Licensed Motor Vehicle Dealers nationwide can now change vehicle ownership themselves, via the Internet, thanks to a new service being offered by on-line vehicle information company, MotorWeb.
Vehicle dealers can access MotorWeb's secure website ( www.motorweb.co.nz ), and perform the MR13B transaction in real time, without leaving their dealership.
The service is the first internet based B2G (Business to Government) transaction for the Motor Industry, available through a standard web browser, and across a standard Internet connection, allowing all dealers (from the very small, to the very large,) to take advantage of this new service.
This is another advancement for the Motor Industry, who are enjoying more and more on-line services. The Change of Ownership (MR13B) service will speed up the process of selling a vehicle, make the 'back office' processes more streamlined, while reducing the time and effort involved in meeting legislative requirements.
MotorWeb Managing Director, Chris Knight says "We are very happy to be breaking new ground with car dealers, and giving them real benefits from new technology. It's an exciting time for the industry, as it has the chance to use the type of electronic tools that many other industries are already using. We now have a complete suite of services for the LMVD market, with the ability to check it (VIR™), trade it (MR13C), and sell it (MR13B), all on-line".
The LTSA's Chris Taylor, Manager Agencies, says "This has been a successful exercise for the LTSA who support the concept of dealers completing their own transactions on-line."
Customers can now watch as their new purchase is put into their name, and drive away, safe in the knowledge that they are the registered owner.
The on-line system has been developed in-house by the MotorWeb team, and has involved extensive testing and development to utilise new technologies that have not been used previously with the LTSA. It is the first of a series of new products for vehicle dealers that will be rolled out over the next 12 months, and complements MotorWeb's other products, the VIR™ (The Vehicle Information Report™) and on-line MR13C transaction, that put vehicles into the 'Dealer Network'.
MotorWeb is a 100% NZ owned company.
